Seeking Little Chief Award Applicants for 2014
If you are a Lincoln County youth between the ages of 12 and 19, you have a chance at winning a silver belt buckle!
You won’t have to buy a raffle ticket, ride a bull or show a horse to earn it. Instead, you must write a narrative explaining your leadership and citizenship qualities that have benefited your community as well as your own personal growth. The person who best exhibits those qualities will be honored with the Little Chief Award. Gordon Pirrie, of Western Outdoor in Kalispell, sponsors award each year.
Participation in the contest is open to youth residing in Lincoln County. Applicants do not have to be a member of 4-H or participate in the fair. Applications must be postmarked and returned to the MSU Lincoln County Extension Office by August 18, 2014
A selection committee reviews the applications and will interview the top candidates on August 21 at the fairgrounds during the Lincoln County Fair. The winner will be presented with a belt buckle during the Lincoln County Youth Livestock Sale on August 23.
Applications are available at the MSU Lincoln County Extension Office or by calling 296-9019.
